Welcome to Cape Town!

After collecting your luggage, your driver will be waiting for you at arrivals. You will then head for your hotel.

Day 1

Day 2

Cape Town – West Coast

It’s here, on the West Coast, that you’ll head after a hearty breakfast.

You’ll take a pretty gravel pass along the east/west axis through the mountains between the agricultural areas along the R365 to the west, with the Kransvleikloof pass to the east, close to the N7 in the Sandveld region on the west coast. The region is well known for potato production and in this kloof, with its own micro-climate, many farms also produce citrus products, similar to the Olifants river valley a few kilometers further east.

Day 2

Day 3

West Coast – Namaqualand

After a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast, you’ll hit the road again in the early morning, heading for Namaqualand, located in the Northern Cape region of South Africa, around 500 km from Cape Town, between the Orange River and the rugged Atlantic Ocean coastline.

Considered part of the Succulent Karoo, Namakwa (Namaqualand) is one of the most important biodiversity spots, with the largest variety of succulents on Earth as well as annual bulbous plants.

The Park stretches from the Atlantic Ocean on the west coast, to the small town of Pofadder in the east, to the Orange River in the north, south of Garies, and includes the Hantam Karoo, along the southern border of the Northern Cape Province. Namaqualand Park is open from 08:00 to 17:00 during the brief spring season, with several routes and trails to explore.

Day 3

Day 4

Namaqualand – Orange River

It’s time to set off for Ritcherseld National Park, on the border between South Africa and Namibia.

The Richtersveld is a unique mountain desert. This national park is home to grey rhinoceros, duiker, steenbok, klipspringer, kudu, Hartman’s mountain zebra, baboon, vervet monkey, caracal and leopard.

Day 4

Day 5

Orange River – Vioolsdrift

This morning, you’ll hop on your bikes and head for Vioolsdrift, where you’ll spend the night!

Day 5

Day 6

Vioolsdrift – Okiep

Today, you’ll head for Okiep, located in Namaqualand and known as South Africa’s oldest mining town.

Because of the rich historical value of this place, it’s well worth stopping and enjoying its beauty while driving the roads of Namaqualand!

Day 6

Day 7

Okiep – Tankwa Karoo

After a restful night’s sleep, you’ll set off in the early morning for Gannaga Lodge in Tankwa Karoo National Park.

Tankwa Karoo National Park is a national park in South Africa. The park lies around 70 km west of Sutherland, close to the border between the Northern Cape and the Western Cape, in one of South Africa’s driest regions, with an average annual rainfall of less than 100mm.

Tankwa Karoo – Cederberg

After a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast, you’ll head south to the Cederberg mountains, famous for their rock formations.
