Cederberg Motorcycle Tour - 3 Days
The Cederberg is renowned for its spectacular rock formations and miles of uninterrupted trails, creating a true paradise for off-road enthusiasts!
Leaving Cape Town, our route takes you to the Cederberg tracks, via Bainskloof Pass, Ceres and Clanwilliam, before returning to Cape Town via the small country roads near Riebeek-Kasteel.
You’ll have the pleasure of staying in luxurious, atypical accommodations that offer not only rest and relaxation, but also a complete change of scenery.
This itinerary offers an incredible ratio of kilometers on track amid breathtaking scenery, making it one of our travelers’ favorite routes.
Details of our Cederberg Motorcycle Tour
Day 1
Cape Town – Kagga Kamma
Head north towards the Cederberg mountains, famous for their rock formations. We pass through the small village of Ceres, nestled in a valley of orchards, before taking the track through the mountains to Kagga Kamma.
The hotel is built into the rock in complete harmony with the surrounding mountains. These landscapes, reminiscent of the Karoo National Park, invite you to discover a unique place.
Total distance: 260 km (including 110 km of track) .
Dinner and overnight at Kagga Kamma.
Day 2
Kagga Kamma – Clanwilliam
After a hearty breakfast, we take to the track to cross the Cederberg mountains from south to north, stopping for lunch at Kromrivier. The afternoon will be more technical, as we leave the track to take a path mixing sand and pebbles.
We cross the villages of Eselbank and Wupperthal to reach Clan william, one of the country’s ten oldest towns, famous for its Rooibos plantations. We spend the night at Cederberg ridge.
Total distance: 230 km (including 210 km of track)
Dinner and overnight at Cederberg Ridge.
Day 3
Clanwilliam – Cape Town
An early start for Cape Town, a big day of motorcycling as we cross the Cederberg again, but this time from north to south, passing through Algeria and the Cederberg Wines vineyards.
We stop off at Rierbeek-Kasteel, one of South Africa’s oldest towns. It is located 80 km northeast of Cape Town, in the Riebeek valley, along with its sister town, Riebeek West. After lunch, we head for Cape Town to return the bikes.
Total distance: 300 km (including 180 km of track)
